Tallest of all the animals, Giraffes live in small herds on Africa's open plains. To find food, they head toward trees and munch on the top leaves. To drink, the Giraffe must spread its long front legs and lower its head to the water. This awkward position makes the creature vulnerable to predators, so often one Giraffe stands guard while another drinks.
